Laubmannite Definition

Laubmannite is a rare mineral with the formula Cu2Zn3Fe2Si2O8 and an approximate chemical formula of CuZn2(SiO3)3(OH)2, belonging to the clinochlore group, a subgroup of the micas. It was first discovered in 1985 in the Rammelsberg Mine, Halberstadt, Germany. The mineral is named after the German mineralogist Horst Laumann (1923-2000).
