Neurosthenia is a term that was once used to describe a condition characterized by physical and mental exhaustion, nervous irritability, and a general loss of energy, often resulting from stress or overwork. It is now considered outdated and has been largely replaced by other diagnoses such as chronic fatigue syndrome or depression.
