burladero Definition

A burladero is a defensive wall or parapet on a fortification, designed to protect soldiers from bombardment by firearms and artillery, often located at a crenellated parapet to allow fire over the top of it. It can also refer to a raised coping on the top of a parapet, protecting it from the weather and accidental falls from horseback.
