isomenthone Definition

A colorless crystalline compound used in the synthesis of vitamin A and other retinoids. It shares structural and functional similarities with menthol but does not possess its odor. Isomenthone is also used in the production of tobacco flavoring, food additives, and in molecular biology for stabilizing proteins.
